On the first
appointment, a diagnosis is made in
which the patient is given a full
structural examination of the
peripheral and vertebral joints,
backed up when necessary by X-rays
and biochemical tests.
Treatment is based on the diagnosis
and a variety of techniques are
used:
-
Techniques
of joint manipulation, whereby
joint restrictions are
released.
-
Myofascial
release techniques where soft
tissues are released, and muscle
tension reduced.
-
Movements
to improve the circulation –
both venous and lymphatic.
Treatments
cause very little discomfort and
rarely cause pain. They are normally
repeated at weekly intervals.
Osteopathic
treatments are most often utilized
in the following conditions.
-
Joint pain – particularly low –
back, neck, knees, hips and
ankles.
-
Muscular aches and pains –
(Arthritis/Rheumatism)
-
Athletic injuries.
-
Tension Headaches.
